Tamaqua Borough employees are rallying around two of their own who are dealing with cancer and its after effects. Matt Bynon, a member of the Tamaqua Police Department, and Donna Whit, a 32-year employee of the Tamaqua Area Water Department, have both had their routines ripped apart by the disease. Bynon is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, while White is dealing with the recent loss of her husband, Bob, to the disease. A benefit buffet dinner, with the proceeds used to help defray medical bills for both employees, will be held this Saturday, July 17, at the Tamaqua Community Center.
