Coaldale police arrested a Lansford man Saturday on drug charges.

Nicholas Hunter Lambert, 23, of 311 East Abbott St., is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession or delivery of a small amount of marijuana and disorderly conduct.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Officer Charles Andrew Blesse, he was on patrol when he was dispatched to 35 West High St. on a report of a suspicious person. The complainant told him the person had been trying to enter her vehicle as she was in it, trying to leave her house.

The person – Lambert – was there, and Blesse checked his driver's license to verify his identity. When asked if he had drugs, knives or guns, Lambert told Blesse he had a small amount of marijuana in his bag.

Blesse read Lambert his Miranda rights, then searched the bag. Blesse found $933 in cash, a digital scale, a pack of bags used for packaging marijuana and three bags with suspected marijuana in them totaling 13.6 grams (about 0.48 of an ounce), and a gravity bong used for smoking marijuana.
