The rest of the Colonial League might not like it, but the Northern Lehigh Bulldog basketball team is putting things together.

In their second meeting in just over a week, a 10-point second quarter run led Northern Lehigh to a 61-39 non-league win over Jim Thorpe.Just like the Rotary Tournament game, Jim Thorpe edged out the Bulldogs 13-12, through the first quarter despite the Bulldogs Jordan Waylan scoring 10 points.The Bulldogs ball movement in the second quarter proved the difference. With the scored tied 18-18, point guard Bobby Hahn brought the ball down the court, three passes without a dribble left Nick Pappas open to bank in the easy lay up to give the Bulldogs a lead they would not relinquish."We've been moving the ball around a lot more," Pappas said. "We used to just run the ball down and rush the shot, now we're working the ball, looking for a better shot as a team.""The more we pass the ball the quicker we get," Bulldog head coach Rich Oertner said."(Jim Thorpe is) still quicker than us, we just moved the ball a lot better."The sharing of the wealth spread out the scoring. Pappas (10 points), Evan Biegley (11 points) and guard Bobby Hahn (14 points) each scored in double figures with fellow starter Joey Seremula scoring eight points.Waylen scored all of his game high 16-points in the first half. Known for his shooting, Weylan spent the second half dishing off to his teammates."He's starting to get that," Oertner said. "He made a couple of real nice passes and it turned into lay ups for us.""Sometimes we need Jordan (Waylen) to take over, but in the long run, the more we move the ball the more lay ups we'll get," Oertner added.The Olympians (7-3), who were trying to rebound from the 55-53 loss to North Schuylkill Friday night worked their way to a 18-16 lead in the second quarter. They then went cold for over three minutes of the second period."That was the key stretch of the game," Olympian coach Brian Carroll said. "We missed a couple of easy shots and they got the ball to Hahn in the middle and beat us at our own game."The cold spell led the Bulldogs from a two-point deficit to a 33-22 halftime lead and left the Olympian bigmen in foul trouble.In the second half Jim Thorpe drew within seven but could get no closer."Coach told us (at half time) to just keep going after them because they were in foul trouble," Pappas said. "They kind of fell apart when they took Cinicola out."Overall, Carroll was pleased with his team's effort."I wasn't sure how we were going to react (after Friday's loss)," Carroll said.
