Eight displaced, including six children

Firefighters from Carbon and Monroe counties made a remarkable "stop" Tuesday evening when responding to a dwelling fire with flames showing. The call was placed just before 7 p.m. at a home along Rabbit Run Lane just west of Trachsville Hill Road in Towamensing Township. When emergency personnel arrived on scene flames were rolling from the second floor windows. The family managed to escape the flames. Due to the remote location of the fire water had to be tanked into the site. No injuries were reported in the incident. The owners of the dwelling weren't identified but officials on the scene said it was a husband and wife and six children that were displaced.
