Katie Sabol, a senior at Lehighton Area High School, has been selected after auditioning to Pa. Musicians Education Association District 10 Band to be held at Fleetwood Area High School on Feb. 11, 12, and 13.

District 10 includes all schools in Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, Pike and Schuylkill counties.Katie is a member of the LAHS Indian Pride Marching Band, Concert Band and Jazz Band, under the direction of Bryan Buffington. Katie also plays with the Lehighton Boys and Girls Band, the Lehighton Band and the Palmerton Band.She participated in County Band for two years and was a student representative in the Side-by-Side Concert Series with the Allentown Band last spring. Katie is a private saxophone student with Robert Fetterman, director of the Lehighton Boys and Girls Band. She has been accepted to and will attend Mansfield University School of Music this fall.Katie is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Sabol and the granddaughter of the late John and Agnes Maholick of Mahoning Valley and the late Latzie and Mary Sabol of Lansford.
