Bishop John Barres of the Diocese of Allentown visited Tamaqua, and the St. Jerome Regional School, for a prayer service as part of Catholic Schools Week, an annual celebration that focuses attention on the good work done by the nation's Catholic schools, and is a joint project of the National Catholic Educational Association and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. This years event runs from January 31 to February 6. A breakfast reception was held immediately afterward in the school gymnasium.
