Nesquehoning water rates to increase

At the Monday night meeting of the Nesquehoning Borough Water Authority, a motion was made that water rates need to be increased.

Starting with the April billing, the rates will increase from $60 to $70 for a quarter billing.

Rates have remained the same for a number of years and Nesquehoning is one of the lowest water rates in the area, but the time has

come that the authority needs additional revenues to maintain a functioning program.
