A fire reported to have started in a second floor bedroom destroyed a Monroe county home Friday afternoon. The fire was reported at 31 High Country Drive in Tunkhannock Township just after noon. When fire fighters from three Monroe county departments arrived on scene, heavy smoke and flames were shooting from the second floor of the two story wood frame dwelling. All of the family members escaped the flames but a pet dog was lost.
