They sauntered from one vendor to another, assured that whichever station they stopped at, useful tips were just around the corner.

Such has become the norm at the annual Health Fair at the Village at Palmerton. Open to the public, the event on Wednesday offered a litany of services and screenings to visitors free of charge.This year's fair was double in size from that of last year's event, with 40 vendors on tap, said Jennifer Ebert, admissions and marketing director."We have many, many services available," Ebert said. "We're happy for that, and everybody's loving it."Those services included blood pressure screenings, sugar checks, nutrition services, sleep lab screenings, pre planning funeral, home care and nursing services. Miller-Keystone Blood Center held a blood drive outside the Village.Frank Derosa, owner of Med Alert Services, Nazareth, took a break from his vendor to enjoy the simpler things in life.Derosa stopped by the True Spa and Skin Care Center stand for a massage. When it was over, he had complimentary words for the massage therapist."It makes a difference," Derosa said. "She did a very good job."Tricia Schaefer, owner of True Spa, said a massage is an excellent form of relaxation."It reduces stress, eases tension, loosens muscles," Schaefer said. "It feels good, and is very relaxing for a lot of people."Ebert said she was pleased with the attendance rate."It's been a busy day, with a good turnout," she said. "It's to help people and show them what's out there that they may not be aware of."
