Snyder, Perkins received Commonwealth Volleyball All-Conference honors

Two years ago, Joelle Snyder was selected as the Commonwealth Conference Volleyball Rookie of the Year at Lebanon Valley College.

A few days ago, the Marian Catholic graduate was named the Commonwealth Conference Volleyball Player of the year for the past season.In doing so, the Lehighton native became the conference's first player to be ever selected to both honors.The junior Dutchman was all named First Team All-Conference for the third time in her collegiate career.Snyder is also joined on the First Team by Emily Perkins, a Lehighton High School graduate.Both individuals helped Lebanon Valley College to its second consecutive Commonwealth Conference title. The Dutchman defended their title last weekend with a 25-23, 18-25, 23-25, 25-16, 15-13 in a five-set classic over Elizabethtown, to clinch an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.The Dutchman took an early lead with a first-set win in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, but Mount Union rebounded to take the next three sets to score a 17-25, 27-25, 25-23, 25-12 victory to move on. Thus, LVC finished the season with a record of 31-3.Snyder finished the season with a Dutchman team best in kills (382), serving percentage (.328), service aces (57) and blocks (77) while Perkins compiled a team best 1,184 assists.
