Nesquehoning water construction discussed

During the monthly meeting of the Nesquehoning Borough Water Authority a letter was discussed from Louise Steber about her Hauto Estates home that is vacant. She asked if the water bill must be paid and the answer was yes. The authority is sticking to its policy. Also Atty. Robert Yurchak sent a letter to Carl Royer owner of 203 West Mill Street about disconnecting the dual water line with the neighbor. An answer has not yet been received.

Authority member Denny Creitz asked about the hole in the driveway entrance to the Nesquehoning Fire Company. He said it causes damage to the fire trucks and has to be fixed. Engineer Ron Tirpak will contact Bellview to fix it as soon as possible. This is a result of work done on the highway to replace water lines. It is reported that there is a one year guarantee on the project.Tirpak asked Penn DOT for an extension to finish the streets, but hasn't heard anything yet.Supervisor Mark Lopata said the hydrant flushing is finished. The fire hydrant on Mill Street needs to be done and employees will proceed with it as soon as possible.
