A Schuylkill County resident is facing charges following an incident that occurred about 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 4.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Kenneth Mark Witmer, 24, of W. Center St., Good Spring section of Frailey Township, and Calvin Leroy Osborne, 56, of Port Royal, Juniata County, were involved in a physical altercation at Witmer's residence.

A Lehigh County driver has been charged with homicide by vehicle stemming from a fatal crash that occurred last June.

State police at Fogelsville have charged Joseph Mark Hammer, 22, of Apline Circle, Emmaus, with homcide by vehicle while driving under the influence (DUI), aggravaed assault by vehicle while DUI, homicide by vehicle, possession of marijuana/drug paraphernalia, DUI, involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person, and several motor vehicle code summary offenses.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft of a vehicle and the theft of hunting decoys, in separate incidents in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said a 1992 Chevrolet Lumina was stolen from a lot at Rod's Auto Repair, 236 Sweet Arrow Lake Rd., in Pine Grove Township, sometime between 2 and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6. The car was left at the lot with the doors unlocked and the keys in the ignition. The car is owned by Jeffery Webber, 40, of Auburn. It has state registration plate number EDC2653.

State police at Fern released their statistical report of activities for the month of October.

In the criminal division there were 214 offenses reported, 210 founded, 133 cleared with 112 arrests made. In the traffic division there were 66 crashes reported, one hit and run, 33 injured, seven drunk driving arrests, two DUI related crashes, no fatalities, 251 citations issued and 34 written warnings handed out.

There were 658 incidents for the month.

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Sunday, Nov. 7, for allegedly violating a protection from abuse (PFA) order.

State police at Frackville said Gene Maschal, 48, of New Philadelphia, was at a residence on Valley St. in the borough between 6:30-6:40 a.m. which was a violation of the PFA order.

He was found near the residence and taken into custody. He was arraigned before duty District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post 10 percent of $10,000 bail set by Bayer.

A Schuylkill County driver fled the scene of a one vehicle accident, and later returned, but is facing charges.

State police at Frackville said Emma M. Palik, 46, of Port Carbon, was driving a 2008 Dodge Dakota pickup truck eastbound on SR4002 (Valley Rd.), in Cass Township, about 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, when she said she swerved to avoid a small animal on the road. The truck went onto the berm and struck a utility pole and the front of a home a 586 Valley Rd. causing minor damage to the front passenger side of the truck. After impact Palik fled the scene.

A domestic incident has led to the arrest of a Monroe County man.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on Sunday, Nov. 7, about 7:23 a.m. officers were called to 6693 Country Place Drive, in Tobyhanna, for a reported domestic assault. Upon arrival officers spoke to Christina Cellucci, who showed signs of recent physical abuse on her face and lips.

Officers arrested her fiance, Adesoji Akano, 29, at the residence for domesitc assault. He was arraigned before a district judge and released on unsecured bail.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a crash that occurred about 12:10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Luke Reber, 22, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2001 Nissan Sentra along Main St., in Landingville, when he failed to negotiate a left curve. The car left the road and struck a wooden fence on the proeprty at 110 Main St., and owned by Shelly Trumbo.

Two incidents of fighting has led to four people being cited by Lehighton police in two separate incidents.

Police said Daryl J. Behler, 48, of 125 N. First St., rear, Lehighton, and Kermit C. Strohl, 48, of 317 Prospect St., Weissport, were both cited for disorderly conduct for engaging in a fight with each other on Sunday, Nov. 7, in the area of 328 S. Second St., and occurring just after midnight.
