Tamaqua police are investigating multiple reports of criminal mischief this weekend. Five incidents of damage to vehicles and/or property were reported to the department on Sunday. All of the reported incidents took place on Lafayette and Catawissa streets.

A Nesquehoning woman was cited by Tamaqua police following an incident at the Family Dollar store on Sunday.

Lisa Neal, 20, of 321 E. Catawissa St., was cited for retail theft.

A Mahoning Township man is facing charges following an incident which occurred on May 12.

Township police said Terry Williams, of 610 N. First St., Lehighton, has been charged with simple assault and harassment.

He was arraigned on the charges before District Judge Edward M. Lewis of Jim Thorpe. Lewis placed bail at $20,000, 10 percent. Unable to post bail, Williams was incarcerated in the Carbon County Prison.

The charges stem from an incident in which police investigated a 911 hang up call at Williams' residence.

State police at Lehighton reported investigating the following crashes.

A one-vehicle crash occurred about 10:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, along Christman Road, in Eldred Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Christopher Schaeffer, 39, of Palmerton, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound when, for unknown reasons, he traveled across the oncoming lane of travel and left the road. The truck went up an embankment before striking a tree stump which caused it to roll onto its side in the westbound lane.

State police at Lehighton are investigating a access device fraud case.

Troopers said Judy Anne Burkhart, 59, of 559 Molasses Valley Road, in Kunkletown, Eldred Township, Monroe County, reported someone obtained her credit card information and made purchases totaling $2,159.23 on the Internet. The purchases were made during the period of May 6 and 9.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.

A Northampton County man is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) after he was stopped for a vehicle code violation while operating a motorcycle.

State police at Lehighton said Peter A. Hissim, 47, of Bath, driving a 2012 Harley Davidson Road King bike, was stopped along 57 Road in the area of Locust Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, about 9:18 p.m. on Saturday, May 12.

He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said.

A Carbon County driver was involved in a crash with a school bus in which 15 students were taken to area hospitals. According to state police at Fogelsville, the crash occurred about 5:20 p.m. on Friday, May 11, at the intersection of SR222 northbound and Interstate 78 on-ramp, in Lower Macungie Township.

Troopers said Edward Parish, 68, of Quakertown, operating a 2003 Freightliner school bus for the Pennridge Regional School Districdt, of Quakertown, southbound on 222 in the left turn lane. Jonathan Banko, 20, of Lehighton, was northbound operating a 2008 Subaru Impreza.

Two individuals were cited by Lehighton police and charged with harassment following an incident in the borough.

Michael A. Richardson, 19, of Bridge Street, and Jessica Davis, 18, of Ashtown Drive, received the citations following a verbal altercation which resulted in physical contact with each other, police said.

The incident occurred at 116 Bridge Street on Tuesday, March 27, at 6 p.m., said police.

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a rear-end crash about 10 a.m. Sunday, May 13, along SR209 in Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Keith N. Youse, 66, of Lehighton, operating a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, was attempting a left turn into a private driveway when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 truck driven by Adam C. Ash, 31, of Lehighton.

No one was reported injured and the Dodge had to be towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Ash for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.

Two men were cited by Tamaqua police following a disturbance on Friday, May 11.

Officers were dispatched to the area of 214 Pine St. twice that morning, at 2:50 a.m. and at 5:50 a.m.

Both times, witnesses stated that Joshua Generella, 24, of New Ringgold, and Gary Scott Jr., 25, of Tamaqua were responsible for the disturbances. Both men fled the scene when police were called.

Both were cited for disorderly conduct.
