A Pottsville woman is facing a variety of charges after she was discovered passed out in her vehicle in Tamaqua.

Officers on patrol at 1:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, observed a parked red Chevrolet Blazer partially blocking the eastbound lane of travel on West Broad Street. A woman, identified as 34-year-old Jennifer Probition, was slumped behind the driver's wheel. The keys were in the ignition and the engine was running.

The North Central PA Regional DUI Enforcement Program has released the results of Roving DUI Patrols held this past weekend.

On July 29 five officers representing five law enforcement agencies conducted a roving patrol in Schuylkill County. A total of 36 vehicles were contacted and detained. Two operators were tested for possible intoxication, with one adult arrest. Officers also issued eight traffic citations, two seat belt violations, made one criminal arrest and issued 30 warnings.

A Nesquehoning man found sleeping on a park bench has been cited by Tamaqua police.

Randall Scholl, 32, of 206 Yard St., was found sleeping on a bench at Hunter/Spruce streets lot at 6:15 a.m. on July 23. When awoken Scholl told police he had been drinking and fell asleep on the bench. Advised to leave the area Scholl walked to the Green Street home of a friend.

He was cited for public drunkenness.

State police at Frackville are investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred in the Schuylkill County borough of Girardville.

Alice Mills, of Ogden St., Girardville, reported someone broke the windshield on her Chevrolet Malibu while parked in front of her home. The incident occurred sometime overnight of Monday, Aug. 1, into Tuesday.

Troopers noted that Girardville police could not respond to this incident and an assault incident, found in another police log item, because they have no operational police vehicle.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft from a vehicle incident.

Troopers said Dajone Fairell, 20, of Schuylkill Haven, reported his Buick Century was entered while parked at 300 Tremont Road, in Pine Grove Township, sometime between 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, and 6:45 a.m. on Monday.

Removed from the car was a black iPod adapter and a Kenneth Cole black wallet located on the middle console.

An illegal immigrant was taken into custody by Tamaqua police on July 27 after the man allegedly injured his wife in a domestic incident.

Officers were dispatched to 132 Schuylkill Ave. at 11:40 p.m. where they were met by Concepcion Martinez. Martinez told Patrolman Matt Bynon she had ben assaulted by her husband, Victor Antonio-Villagomez, 35, who allegedly struck her on the arm and leg with a belt. Bynon did observe several welts on the victim.

Villagomez was taken into custody a few minutes later, after being located in a parking lot near the residence.

A Lehighton man will be cited by Tamaqua police following an incident on July 23.

An officer on patrol at 3:09 a.m. observed a green Dodge Dakota traveling west on Rowe Street, with the tires squealing. A vehicle stop was made and the driver identified as Brian L. Wolfe, of 416 S. Third St.

Wolfe told officers he was unable to perform field sobriety tests due to a medical issue.

He consented to and was taken for a portable breath test.

The results indicated a .151 blood alcohol content, almost twice the legal limit of .08.

State police at Frackville reported a cardboard box containing sports memorabilia was found at a location in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said the box was found along Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township. The box was found about 2:30 p.m. on July 26.

Troopers are seeking the owner, who can claim the items by calling the barracks at (570) 874-5300 and providing information verifying the contents of the box.

A Tamaqua man faces charges of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol following a July 21 incident in the borough.

An officer on patrol at 2:37 a.m. observed a silver vehicle traveling west on Rowe Street, failing to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with Nescopec Street. The vehicle was then placed in reverse, making a left turn onto Nescopec St. It then went through a red light at the intersection with Broad Street.
