Borough police said on Sunday, Sept. 18, about 5:15 p.m. they were called to the McGarvey's baseball field located along W. Sixth Street for a report of a burglary and vandalism.

Upon arrival officers were informed that the basketball nets were ripped down and the concession stand was broken into. Taken from the stand was an unspecified amount of money.

Also, the stand sustained a large amount of damage, police noted.

A Montgomery County woman was jailed earlier this year for an incident in Jim Thorpe. Borough police said the incident occurred on Sunday, July 24.

About 2:13 a.m. police observed a female arguing with several individuals in front of Crocodile Lyle's Bar, 212 Center St. A further invesetigation revealed the female and her boyfriend were asked to leave the establishment after getting into an argument with other patrons.

A Jim Thorpe resident is facing drug charges.

Borough police said about 3:36 a.m .on Friday, July 22, officers on patrol observed a male slumped over in a chair on the porch at 117A Broadway. Police checked on the male for his safety and observed what appeared to be a marijuana pipe on his lap.

The male was awoken and identified as Jahn P. Schafer, 30, of A2 Broadview Drive. Schafer was placed under arrest and a small bag of suspected marijuana was found to be in his possession. The contents of the bag later tested positive for marijuana.

State police at Frackville are investigating a burglary at a Schuylkill County residence.

Troopers said the residence at 1819 Chestnut St. (SR443), in McKeansburg, East Brunswick Township, was entered through a rear door. Removed from the home were several pieces of property and various types of jewelry.

The incident occurred sometime between 6 p.m. on Sept. 14 and 11 a.m. on Sept. 15. Troopers did not list the name of the victim.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by officers.

One DUI arrest occurred as the result of a motor vehicle accident. On Sunday, Sept. 18, about 12:55 a.m. officers responded to SR196, north of Echo Lake Road, for a vehicle into a tree.

The driver, identified as Zhongren Wang, 21, of Flushing, N.Y., was not injured but was found to be under the influence.

He refused to submit to a blood test and will be charged with DUI, police said.

Two passengers were injured in a two vehicle crash that occurred about 11:55 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, along SR183 in the area of Chestnut Hill, in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Edward J. Ebling, 28, of Pottsville, was operating a 2002 Chevrolet W4500 truck southbound and stopped for traffic in front of him. His vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Marc Rousseau, 79, of Pine Grove.

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating the theft of a motorcycle.

Donna Marie Schmidt, of East Chatham, N.Y., reported her 2007 Denim blue Harley Davidson Heritage bike was stolen from a locked shed located along Maple Road, in Sun Valley, Effort. The bike had a windshield, floor boards and saddle bags. The bike as New York registration plate 35EJ88 and vehicle identification number (VIN) 1HD1BW5187Y010403.

The theft occurred sometime between 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18, and 10 a.m. on Monday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said an arrest warrant has been issued for Joseph Tarlecky, 36, of 99 Oak Ledge Ave., North Manheim Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on several crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways.

A crash occurred about 6 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, along SR61 in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Adam J. Zimmerman, 23, of Schuylkill Haven, and Steve Moyer, 37, of Pottsville, were both southbound when a deer entered the road. Moyer slowed down to avoid the deer when his 2005 GMC 1500 truck was hit in the rear by Zimmerman's 1987 GMC Suburban.

A Schuylkill County man is facing charges following an incident that occurred on Saturday, Sept. 17, and involved the shooting of a dog.

State police at Frackville said William Roger Weand, 44, of 201 Tyson St., New Ringgold, shot a dog in his yard about 4:50 p.m. Weand shot the dog after he felt threatened by the animal, according to troopers. State dog law officer Diane Buhl is investigating the incident.
