State police at Lehighton reported investigating a three-vehicle crash about 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, along SR903 at Maurey Road, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Denise Smith, of Lehighton, was driving a 2010 Kia Forte eastbound in front of a 2007 Ford Escape driven by Richard Teates, of Jim Thorpe. Troopers said the Kia was struck by the Ford as Smith was attempting a left hand turn into a parking area. After impact the Kia left the road, re-entered the westbound lane and struck a 2007 Mercury Milan operated by Meredith Brisbane, of Jim Thorpe.

A Tamaqua man was cited following a vehicle stop in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Joseph Anthony Pellegrino, 45, was stopped about 11:49 p.m. on Aug. 22 along SR309 at Mountain Rd., in Lynn Township.

Troopers said at the stop Pellegrino allegedly provided a false name, date of birth, and Social Security number. He was taken into custody and charged with false identification to law enforcement, troopers said.

A New Jersey motorcyclist was injured in a one-vehicle crash about 2:25 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26, along Bethel Road, in Pine Grove Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Joseph L. McKelvey Jr., 37, of Egg Harbor Township, was driving a 2000 Honda CBR600 northbound and attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve when his bike began to travel off the road and onto the shoulder.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department are asking anyone who has seen Stephen Lepore, 55, of 9139 Belvidere Road, Tobyhanna. Police responded in reference to a missing male at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012. Lepore left the residence in a tan 2007 Chevrolet Express van bearing Pennsylvania registration YZN-5888. Lepore is bipolar and hasn't been taking his medication. Lepore and the vehicle have been entered into the NCIC. Anyone who has information as to the whereabouts of Lepore, is requested to contact Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department at (570) 895-2400.

A Tamaqua man who was a passenger in a vehicle was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Schuylkill County on Saturday. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred about 4:50 p.m. along SR183 in the area of a Burger King restaurant in North Manheim Township.

State police at Lehighton reported on a burglary and several theft incidents being probed by troopers.

The break-in occurred at the residence of Albert Richard Samanns, 64, of 22 Deer Trail Rd., Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said entry was made sometime between 12:30 and 3 p.m. on Aug. 22. Troopers did not indicate if anything was taken.

Troopers said Dwayne Robert Wieser, of Allentown, reported someone removed a lawn mower from 324 White St., Weissport. The theft occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Aug. 21 and 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 22.

State police at Lehighton reported on the following driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers.

About 1:56 a.m. on Aug. 22, troopers stopped Dane Evan Williams, 21, of Blakeslee, along Merwingsburg Road, west of SR115, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was in possession of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana. He was taken into custody and will be charged.

A 17-year-old Weatherly male faces charges of retail theft after being cited by Rush Township Police, for allegedly taking $49.70 worth of merchandise from the Hometown Commons Walmart.

The incident reportedly took place at 11 a.m. on Aug. 17.

Rush Township police recently responded to several incidents at the Pines Motel along SR309.

Following one incident, Benjamin A. Kuzo, 19, of Nesquehoning, and Ashtyn G. Mark, 23, of Liverpool,Perry County, were cited for possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kuzo was also charged with underage drinking, while Mark faces charges of furnishing alcohol to a minor.

A Lehighton woman is facing charges for bringing contraband into the county prison in Nesquehoning.

Borough Police Chief Sean Smith and Officer Thomas Kurtz received information from personnel at the prison on Aug. 5 that when Kristin N. Eschbach, 30, of 212 N. Seventh St., was brought to the prison marijuana was found in her purse.

Police said Eschbach was brought to the jail by Lehighton police on unrelated charges. During a search of her personal property, prison personnel found suspected marijuana in her purse.
