State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating two theft from vehicle incidents that occurred in Schuylkill County.

Nicole Marie Knorr, of Pottsville St., Cressona, repored her unlocked Honda Accord was entered sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, and shortly after midnight on Tuesday, and removed was 25 CDs valued at over $300. The vehicle was parked near her residence.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft of copper wiring from a Schuylkill County residence.

Troopers said unknown criminals cut the copper wiring to the house meter box of the residence of Michael Sitkus, located along Norwegian Woods Drive, Norwegian Township. The theft occurred sometime between Monday, Aug. 15, at 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday at 5 a.m. The property is owned by Michael Sitkus, of Minersville, troopers said.

Several drug-related arrests were reported by Pocono Mountain Regional police.

Police said on Aug. 13 about 3:16 a.m. officers stopped to check a vehicle parked on the side of SR940 just before Heath Lane. While speaking with the driver, identified as Jose Velasquez, 35, of Bronx, N.Y., officers observed a bag of suspected marijuana behind the passenger seat.

A Mahanoy City man will be cited following a reported retail theft at the Tamaqua Turkey Hill Minit Mart on Friday morning.

According to police a group of men entered the store at approximatley 1:30 a.m.

While the store clerk's back was turned, one of the men, identified as John Vidzicki, 27, of 508 E. Market St., allegedly removed two packs of Newport cigarettes from the shelf then left without paying for them.

The theft was witnessed by another store patron.

When contacted by police Vidzicki admitted to the theft.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating two theft incidents that occurred in Schuylkill County.

Eric Geisinger, 31, of 150 Alcoa St., Cressona, reported his vehicle was forcibly entered and removed qas a hand-held games system and a Belkin wireless transmitter.

The incident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, and 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday while the vehicle was parked near his home.

Troopers said someone removed the drainage grate from the borough park, located at Fifth and Spruce sts.

The grate was located next to the lower pavilion.

A drug deal turned into an armed robbery in Monroe County. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident occurred about 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, in the parking lot of St. Mary's church in Mt. Pocono.

According to police two male juveniles attempted to purchase narcotics in the church parking lot at the time and date stated. At this point the suspects in the robbery robbed one of the juveniles while displaying a firearm. Taken was $101 in U.S. currency.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by officers.

On July 24 about 7:30 a.m. a police cruiser was almost struck head-on by another vehicle along Sullivan Road near SR940. Police activated the emergency lights and siren on the cruiser and attempted to stop the other vehicle.

The driver did not stop until the area of SR940 and Deer Path. During the incident police observed the other vehicle cross into the on-coming lane six times and onto to the shoulder of the road six times.

A Tamaqua woman was cited Friday after challenging Tamaqua police following a domestic dispute.

Officers were called to 175 Penn St. at 4:42 p.m. to deal with a reported unwanted person.

At the scene they found David Cipko, 33, and Shannon Quinn, 24, of 421 Glenwood Ave.

Cipko told police Quinn had been staying at his home for a short while but suddenly left early that morning. Quinn said she was trying to retrieve her belongings.

Quinn refused the officers request to calm down and stop yelling. Instead, she threatened to "break every window in the house."

A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 2:25 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14, along SR903, just south of SR534, in Penn Forest Township.

State police at Lehighton said Joseph Plummer, 25, of Albrightsville, was stopped after being observed driving erratically. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest. Troopers said Plummer did not pass a breath test and the DUI charge is pending.

Bodean Boggs, 21, of 616 E. Patterson St., Lansford, faces charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from an incident which took place at 9:50 p.m. July 29 on E. Kline Ave. Charges were filed by Lansford Officer Joshua Tom. According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Tom, here's what happened:

Tom was on patrol when he saw several people going in and out of a known drug house. For the past several weeks, police had been getting complaints of drug activity coming out of that area.
