A Delano driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in Tamaqua.

Edward Ostrowski Jr, of Lakeside Avenue was observed driving in a reckless manner while driving northbound on SR309 in West Penn Township on March 10.

After pulling into the Burger King parking lot in Tamaqua, Ostrowski was observed by police with an opened beer can in his vehicle.

A Lehighton resident is facing drug counts.

Lehighton police said Jonathan N. Dubow Sr., 28, of 302 N. Second St., was charged with unlawful delivery or manufacture of marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said a search warrant was executed on Monday, March 12, at his residence. As a result police confiscated 10 potted marijuana plants, three small bags of marijuana which was prepared for sale, and several items of drug paraphernalia.

Shots were fired during an attempted armed robbery that occurred Monday night in Monroe County. State police at Fern Ridge said the incident occurred outside the New York Pizza Girl business located along SR115, near Fish and Pay Lake, in Chestnuthill Township.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 11:57 a.m. on Monday, March 12, along SR125, just south of the Hess Service Station, in North Manheim Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Charles E. Kimmel Jr., 20, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu northbound when the vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole. After impact Kimmel continued to drive north with damage to the left rear fender and tire on the car.

Nesquehoning police released the following information on citations issued by officers.

Officer Timothy Wuttke issued speeding citations on the following dates: March 9, 10 and 11. A total of six citations issued at Oak and Catawissa, SR93, and Cemetery Road and SR209. Speeds involved were 40 miles-per-hour in a 25 zone, 79 in a 55, 43 in a 25, 57 in a 40, 72 and 73 in a 55.

A school bus rolled over during a crash in Schuylkill County. State police at Frackville said the incident occurred about 1:50 p.m. on Monday, March 12, along Valley Hill Road, near Turnpike Road, in Butler Township.

Steve Llewellyn, of 317 Owl Creek Road, Tamaqua, was cited on March 7 by borough police for his dogs barking excessively.

Llewellyn was previously cited for this offense.

Daniel Peletsky, 30, was arrested for simple assault, harrassment and disorderly conduct on March 10 at a home on Glennwood Avenue in Tamaqua. He was arraigned on March 11 and bail was set for $10,000 by District Judge Stephen J. Bayer, of Tamaqua. Unable to post the required 10 percent, Peletsky was lodged in the county prison.
