Credit defaults

The following actions were filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, for alleged defaults on credit card/loan accounts.

Midland Funding, c/o 1060 Andrew Drive, West Chester, filed against Craig Dishong, 329 Mahoning St., Lehighton, seeking $4,742.11.

Cavalry Portfolio Services, c/o 500 Summit Lake Drive, Valhaal, N.Y., filed against Thomas M. Suveg Sr., 605 E. Second St., Weatherly, seeking $16,505.69.

Accident suit

State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, Bloomington, Ill., file a civil action against Dorothy Goepfert, 36 Zehners Crossing Tamaqua R.D., seeking to recover uninsured bodily injury claim allegdlly paid to one of its insured clients, David Fisher, whose was reported injured in a collision with Goepfert's vehicle.

The suit claims on April 1, 2009, at the intersection of SR309N and SR443 in West Penn Township, Goepfert's vehicle allegedly failed to yield the right-of-way and was involved in a collision with Fisher's vehicle.

Revenue from deeds

Carbon County Recorder of Deeds Emmett P. McCall reported his office recorded 140 deeds, 176 mortgages and 380 other writs during the month of July.

As a result of those transactions, McCall turned over to the Carbon County General Fund the sum of $23,754.76. A breakdown of that revenue includes: transfer fees, $19,678.50; data processing fees, $1,411.50; notaries, $80; commission on transfers and writs, $1,854.56; and Affordable Housing administrative fee, $730.20.

Jailed 17 months

Robert Warren McFarland, 40, Pottsville, found guilty by a jury last June 7 of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol was sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin to serve 12 to 60 months in the county prison, pay a fine of $1,500, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, $100 to Catastrophe fund, complete alcohol highway safety school, receive outpatient treatment and driver's license suspended 18 months and when released pay a $50 monthly supervision while on probation.
