Carbon County Recorder of Deeds Emmett P. McCall reported his office recorded 195 deeds, 234 mortgages and 300 other writs during the month of August.

As a result of those transactions, McCall turned over to the Carbon County General Fund the sum of $37,729.39. A breakdown of that revenue includes: transfer fees, $21,766.50; data processing fees, $2,078.25; notaries, $20; commission on transfers and writs, $2,811.64; and Affordable Housing administrative fee, $1,053.

The Schuylkill County Tax Claim Bureau recorded in the county courthouse sale of 20 properties from a judicial auction sale. They were properties which came under the trustee of the bureau for unpaid real estate taxes and the sale puts them back on the tax list. The buyers were:

District Attorney James P. Goodman made a motion to dismiss the charges of identify theft against Arthur A. Marrin, 18, of 41 Howard Avenue, Coaldale, because the victim did not wish to proceed with prosecution. The motion was granted by President Judge William E. Baldwin.
