PVI PAC meeting

Pleasant Valley Intermediate School will hold its monthly PAC meeting on Monday, May 21 at 1:15 p.m. in the all purpose room.


Pleasant Valley Elementary PTO will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, May 17 at 4 p.m. in the school cafeteria. There will be election of officers. Please try and attend.

Ascension Mass

Our Lady Queen of Peace church will offer Mass for the Feast of the Ascension, a Holy Day of Obligation, at 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, and on Thursday, May 17, at 8 a.m., 12:10 and 7 p.m.

Historical society meets

The Chestnuthill Township Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, at the Chestnuthill Township Park Building on Route 715. Township residents are welcome to attend.

At the March meeting, Joe Horn gave a talk about the history of Western Union.

St. Matthew's will welcome guest preacher, the Rev. Alan Miller, conference minister from Penn Northeast Conference, on Sunday, May 13, Mother's Day. All are welcome to attend.

Many confirmed

This past Sunday, Bishop James C. Timlin confirmed over 120 young people at the service at Our Lady Queen of Peace.

This Sunday, over 100 parish children will be receiving First Communion.

PV School Board

The next meeting of the Pleasant Valley School District Board of Education will be at 8 p.m., Thursday, May 10, in the district office in Brodheadsville.

Chestnut Ridge Seniors

The Chestnut Ridge Seniors will meet on Thursday, May 10 at 11 a.m. at the Kunkletown Vol. Fire Co. They will be celebrating Mother's Day. They will be serving barbecue, ice cream and cake (and they're asking for donations of cakes.)

There will be prizes for mothers and they will be playing bingo.

The West End Park & Open Space Commission needs help with roadside clean up of the Regional Park on Saturday, May 5.

Participants are asked to meet at Chestnuthill Park at 8 a.m. Vests and gloves will be provided.

St. Matthew's UCC is having a photo directory done and is opening its photo sessions to anyone who would like to have a family photo taken. Everyone will receive a free 8-inch by 10-inch photo.
