The Lehighton Area Class of 1986 will be holding it's 25-year class reunion at the Lehighton American Legion on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Mr. Kenneth R. and Dr. Lauren E. Houser

Dr. Lauren E. Romano, daughter of Christopher and Donna Romano of Pottsville, and Kenneth R. Houser, son of Kenneth and Sheree Houser of Ringtown, were united in marriage on Sept. 3, 2011 in Lancaster, Pa. The Rev. Darcy Reis officiated the double ring ceremony. Michael Mekailek was the vocalist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose Jennifer Buehler of Pottsville as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Dr. Erica Richardson, Annapolis, Md.; Nicole Ling, Carlisle, Pa.; Dr. Jillian Kline, Camp Hill, Pa.; and Heather Pavelko, Pottsville.

Mahanoy Area High School Class of 1971 will celebrate its 40-year reunion on Nov. 26 at the West End Fire and Rescue, Mahanoy City.

Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. and will include a catered meal, refreshments, music and entertainment.

Martin Hage and Ashley McDonald

Announcement has been made of the engagement of Ashley McDonald and Martin Hage, both of Philadelphia.

The bride-elect is the daughter of attorney William and Joanne McDonald of West Penn Township. She graduated from Drexel University, Philadelphia, with a bachelor's degree in design and merchandising.

She is employed by Macy's Department Store, Ardmore, as visual manager.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Jerry and Alisan Hage of Crystal Lake, Ill. He studied theater at Viterbo University in Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. Gyuricsek recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They were married on Oct. 26, 1946 at St. John's Lutheran Church on South Avenue in Jim Thorpe. The Rev. Addison Planz officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Gyuricsek is the former Helen Goga, daughter of the late Max and Emma Goga of Jim Thorpe. Her husband is the son of the late Stephen and Julia Gyuricsek of Jim Thorpe.

They have three children: Karen Evans, Joe Gyuricsek and Brian Gyuricsek, all of Jim Thorpe.

They have two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lois E. (Sands) Holman

Lois Evelyn (Sands) Holman, of Heritage Hill Senior Community, Weatherly, is celebrating her 98th birthday Nov. 1. Born in Hazleton in 1913, she was married to Allan Williams for 47 years until his passing in 1979, and to David Holman Sr. for 10 years until his death in 2000.

Lois is a member of the Hazleton Chapter of the American Red Cross and received recognition for over 50 years of service. She was instrumental in starting the Red Cross Bloodmobile in Weatherly and was also a volunteer in the Hazleton Red Cross office during World War II.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kruczek

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kruczek of Summit Hill will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday.

They were married on Oct. 28, 1961 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, by the late Rev. Msgr. J. Francis Haley.

Mrs. Kruczek is the former Anna Marie Cusanelli, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Cusanelli. Mr. Kruczek is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kruczek.

The couple has two children, Edward, and his wife, Pam, of Coopersburg, and Deborah, wife of Robert Rohlfing of Summit Hill.
