A home was destroyed by fire early this morning in Blythe Township. The fire was reported at 5 a.m. at 13 Silver Creek road just north of the village of New Philadelphia. When firefighters arrived on scene they found heavy smoke and flames pouring from the two-story single family wood frame dwelling. Fire companies from New Philadelphia, Port Carbon, Blythe Township and Pottsville responded to the scene. No injuries were reported in the incident. The home is believed to be vacant and a total loss.
