A Luzerne County driver is facing multiple charges following a crash earlier this week in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Douglas A. Spry, 26, of Edwardsville, was operating a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am on Tuesday around 6:40 a.m. northbound on the entrance ramp to Interstate 81 from Route 309, in Kline Township. The Pontiac went onto the berm and collided with two large PennDOT signs, coming to rest about 50 feet into the woods near the split.Spry then exited the vehicle and walked to Fegley's Mini Mart along North Kennedy Drive in McAdoo to wait for a ride. Firefighters returning from the crash spotted Spry at the mart and notified troopers, who went to the mart and took him into custody. He was charged with driving while his license is suspended, careless driving, damage to unattended vehicle or property, immediate notice of accident to police and expired inspection sticker.Troopers said the vehicle owner, Courtney Spry, has been charged with permitting violation of title for allowing Douglas Spry to operate her vehicle while knowing his license was suspended.
