Palmerton man faces indecent assault charges

A Palmerton man already in jail for the rape of a woman and indecent assault of a girl faces more charges for a separate incident.

Lucio Alexander Alvarado-Torres, 34, is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing before District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton at a date yet to be determined.This time around, Torres faces charges of corruption of minors, three counts of indecent assault, two counts of criminal attempt, and simple assault.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Detective Kevin Buck of the Palmerton Police Department:Buck began an investigation into an indecent assault incident that he learned of Sept. 19.At that time, the victim, an 8-year-old girl, was accompanied by her mother to the police station. On Sept. 23, the victim went to the Children's Advocacy Center for a forensic interview.It was stated that she had been at Alvarado-Torres' apartment for his daughter's birthday party in May, and that she had stayed overnight along with three other juveniles, and that is when the alleged events occurred.While asleep later in the evening, the victim was lying on her back when she said "Alex" began to touch her on her nightgown and in her private area.Bail for Alvarado-Torres has been set at $25,000 straight bail.He remains incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $150,000 straight bail for two other incidents.
