The Jim Thorpe and Pleasant Valley boys and girls track and field teams earned sweeps Wednesday afternoon.

TRACKJim Thorpe, Tamaqua-No. SchuylkillTamaqua and Jim Thorpe both competed against North Schuylkill in a double dual meet.Jim Thorpe prevailed in both the girls and boys meets against the Spartans, including a 75-75 tie that went to criteria (most first place finishers).Tamaqua won the girls meet, but lost in the boys meet.Individually, Jim Thorpe saw Joseph Schwartz take the two hurdling events, while Brad Clemson took both the 800 and the 1600 for the Blue Raiders. Whiteman's 400 time was a school record. Cera Gaston also picked up wins in the 1600 (5:44.3) and 3200 (12:40.2), while Kaia Slaw secured victories in the long jump (16-6) and triple jump (34-4.5).
