Man flees stop, caught and jailed

A man who fled a traffic stop in Schuylkill County, was later apprehended and jailed. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred on Aug. 25 about 6 p.m. in Tremont Township.

Troopers observed a Dodge Dakota truck towing a trailer with an all-terrain vehicle inside. It pulled into a parking lot at the Raceway Truck Stoop at 10 Molleystown Road. Troopers approached the pickup and identified the driver as Shawn Sukeena, 39, no address given. After observing several traffic violations Sukeena was asked to produce his driver's license. At this point Sukeena ran off into a nearby wooded area. He was later apprehended in the woods near the truck stop.Drug paraphernalia was found in the truck along with several stolen items. Sukeena was placed under arrest and arraigned on criminal charges before District Judge James Reiley, of Pottsville. He was unable to post bail and was committed to the county prison, troopers said.
