Shockers split

The Franklin Township Shockers split a doubleheader with the Forks Township Falcons Monday in Keystone Senior Babe Ruth action.

The Shockers rolled to a 14-0 victory in the opener, which was actually the completion of a suspended game from earlier in the season. The Falcons came back in the second contest to record a 2-1 victory.Brody Hydro had three hits, scored three runs and had three RBIs in FT's victory. The Shockers, who scored four runs in both the first and second innings, also received a pair of hits and two RBIs from Daniel Keer while Donovan Buchinsky added two hits and scored four runs. Jordan Knappenberger chipped in with two runs and three RBIs.Brady Niehoff tossed five shutout innings to earn the pitching win. Niehoff allowed just one hit and struck out nine batters.In the second game, the Falcons' Schaming limited Franklin Township to just one hit a double by Taylor David. Schaming struck out eight batters.Forks trailed 1-0 heading to the seventh inning, but pushed across a pair of runs to take the lead.Donovan Buchinsky pitched well in defeat, allowing just four hits and one earned run in seven innings of work. He gave up two walks and fanned six.
