House passes bill about ATV regulations

The House voted this week to pass House Bill 2098, which was authored by Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon). If signed into law, the bill would update Pennsylvania's all-terrain-vehicle regulations, to allow titling and registration of innovative models of the vehicles.

House Bill 2098 would permit an increase in weight for class 1 ATVs and allow the use of innovative airless, never flat tires which come standard on some vehicles used on some industrial sites. The weight increase is essential in helping prevent rollovers and the tire technology greatly increases vehicle handling on uneven, rugged terrain. The bill now goes to the Senate for consideration.
