Cranberry Quilt Guild will hold its monthly meeting on Monday at Faith United Church of Christ Hall off Airport Beltway in Hazle Township.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with light refreshments.
A unique program of Using Inktense pencils on Fabric, will be presented. The pencils can make gorgeous designs in tones and colors to offset a quilt. Activated by water, the colors can be added to enhance a design on muslins or cotton fabrics. The guild members will see first hand how the process works.
A quilt show is being planned by the group for Sept. 19 and 20 at the Weatherly Area Middle School complex. The details of the show will be released soon as plans continue to develop. All the favorite offerings are planned including a food court and bake sale for a fun lunch during the show. There will be raffles, boutique items and vendors but most of all beautiful quilted items, all handmade by the guild’s members.
The Cranberry group continues its charitable mission with its dedication the to SHINE Womens’ Center in West Hazleton for the 2026 guild season. Guild members have donated baby quilts, tote bags and baby care items for the center. The guild continues to hold Quilt of Valor presentations to area veterans. Over 80 quilts have been given to nominated veterans both male and female.
Cranberry hosts interesting programs and workshops throughout the season, which is March to November. New members are always welcome.
