Tamaqua state playoff game postponed

Rain in the afternoon Thursday postponed Tamaqua's PIAA state baseball playoff game against Abington Heights.

The quarterfinal matchup has now been moved to Saturday with a start time of 12 p.m. at Bloomsburg University.

While the two teams didn't play on Thursday, they did found out some information involving the Class AAA bracket. The winner of their contest already knows who they will be playing in the semifinals.

West York, the third-seeded team out of District 3, shut out District 1 champ Holy Ghost Prep by a 2-0 score in the only action of the AAA playoffs. Both of the other games (Upper Moreland vs. Punxsutawney and South Park vs. Keystone Oaks) were also postponed.

The semifinals are scheduled for Monday, June 10 with the finals to be played Friday, June 14.
