Thorpe teen facing charges

Jim Thorpe police have filed a petition with the county juvenile probation office charging a 17-year-old borough female with the theft of three rings.

Poilce said the incident occurred on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at 201 North St., the home of Tina Kerschner.The juvenile removed the rings from Kerschner's purse while she was cleaning the home. During questioning in the presence of her mother the teen admitted to the thefts and having a friend pawn the rings. She said she received $225 for the rings which had a total value of $5,725.She has been charged with a felony three counts each of theft and receiving stolen property.
