Carbon County agencies plan fourth annual legislative brunch

Carbon County agencies want to know state legislators' thoughts on some hot topic issues.

That's why the Interagency Council of Carbon County has organized the fourth annual legislative brunch for area legislators and the public. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on April 26, at the Penn Forest Township Building. Brunch will be served at 9:30 a.m.During the event, elected and appointed officials on local, state and federal levels will present their thoughts on several important issues that deal with Carbon County's present state and future.Commissioner Wayne Nothstein, a member of the organizing committee, explained that they are hoping to create a panel discussion during the brunch.Currently, the group is seeking sponsors for the event. Sponsors help offset the cost of the brunch, as well as fund the annual grant that is awarded to one county agency or community group who meets the criteria of the Interagency Council's mission.To become a sponsor, donations can be sent to Interagency Council of Carbon County c/o Melinda Graver, 529 Lentz Trail, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. Checks can be made payable to Interagency Council of Carbon County.Deadline for sponsorship is Friday, April 12.
