State police at Frackville reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers over the past weekend.
A one vehicle crash occurred about 8:55 a.m. on Friday, April 12, along Interstate 81 in Foster Township. Troopers said Charles J. Andres, 35, of Carlisle, Cumberland County, was southbound and attempted to enter the right lane while crossing a bridge. In doing so he lost control of his 2007 Freightliner tractor with trailer. He then traveled in a southeast direction, traveling off the east berm.
He then attempted to stabilized the truck but could not, and traveled down and then up a grass embankment as the rig began to jackknife. The rig then came to final rest facing northeast in the northbound lane.
Andres was not injured but the truck and trailer had to be towed from the scene. Troopers cited Andres for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
A one vehicle crash occurred about 9:25 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, along First St., in East Union Township. Troopers said Curtis R. Shorette, 34, of Zion Grove, was driving a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am through the village of Oneida when his vehicle left the road and struck a house at 154 First St. Impact caused damage to the porch of the home.
Shorette was not injured but his vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
A crash occurred about 1:57 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, along Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township.
Troopers said Michael D. Bartenope, 41, of Hazleton, driving a 2013 Subaru Crosstrek, and Arthur W. Jones III, 26, of Endicott, N.Y., driving a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro, were both southbound.
Bartenope attempted to move from the right lane into the left lane causing Jones, who was in the left lane, to taken evasive action that caused him to lose control of his car.
The Camaro spun and traveled into the grass median and down into a ditch where it came to rest facing northeast. The Camaro had to be towed from the scene.
No one was injured. Troopers cited Bartenope for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
