Lehighton man facing theft count

A Lehighton man is facing retail theft and a related count following an incident in Nesquehoning.

On Oct. 15 at 2:37 p.m. Chief Sean Smith was called to Redner's Warehouse Market for a retail theft incident. On scene Smith was told by a store employee that he observed a man place a block of cheese in his pants pocket, check out of the store, and did not pay for it. The item was valued at $5.48.The suspect was identified as Thomas G. Reabold, 68, of 325 Valley View Road, Lehighton. Reabold claimed he did not have a shopping cart and placed the cheese in his pants pocket but forgot to pay for it as he was leaving.Smith charged Reabold with retail theft and receiving stolen property.
