Christmas party invitation
The Woman's Club of Lehighton invites the public to join them at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 for an early Christmas Party. Meet others in the community, enjoy music, refreshments, and visit neighbors. The program will include "Light of the Spirit" musical selections for fun, the soul, and spirit by the ukulele duo Syani (Sy Kipp and Judith Greig, whose website is syani2.com).
The meeting will take place in Luther Hall at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 175 South 3rd St., Lehighton. Call Nancy R. Carlson, club president, at (610) 379-5175 or (610) 657-7740 if you have questions or need a ride.
Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, will hold First Saturday worship with Holy communion at 6 p.m. Dec. 1. The service will be led by the Rev. Michael Frost, who serves as dean of the Hazleton/Lehighton mission district, and pastor at Zions Stone Church, New Ringgold. Worship will be led by substitute clergy during the pastoral vacancy.
Sunday worship with Holy Communion and children's sermon will be held at 9 a.m., the first Sunday of Advent. The service will be led by the Rev. Richard L. Hinkle. Coffee fellowship follows the worship service. A nursery is available for children through age 6 during the weekly 9 a.m. worship service.
Sunday School "Power Hour" begins at 10:15 a.m. for ages 3 through adults.
First Tuesday quiet worship with Holy Communion will be held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 4.
The young people who attend the Sunday School Power Hour will present their program "Miracle in the Manger" at the 9 a.m. Dec. 9 worship service. Fellowship/Christmas reception follows in Luther Hall at 10:15 a.m.
Seasonal decorating of the church takes place Saturday, at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15. Volunteers are welcome to participate in the hanging of the greens and adorning two live trees with lights and "Chrismon" ornaments.
The schedule for Christmas Eve worship Services: 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, Family Service, featuring the Trinity Praise Band, with Holy Communion; and a Candlelight Service at 11 p.m., with Holy Communion. Special music will be offered for 20 minutes before the start of each service. The Rev. Carl Schweitzer presides at both services.
