State police at Bethlehem are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash at the intersection of Mountain and Rextown roads in Washington Township, Lehigh County, that occurred Monday afternoon. The cyclist killed was identified as Thomas Morganelli, 63, of 807 W. Broad St., Bethlehem. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:43 p.m. by deputy coroner Jason Nicholas. The crash involved Morganelli's bike and two other vehicles, and occurred about 3:55 p.m. Mountain Road and all nearby roads were closed for hours. The crash occurred on the bridge which carries Mountain Road over the Northeast Extension of the turnpike. No report on the crash was available today from state police.
