Mr. and Mrs. David Wieand of Tamaqua recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. They were married on May 21, 1982, by Willard Steigerwalt at the magistrate's office in Palmerton.

Mrs. Wieand is the former Louise Galloway, daughter of Kay Jennings of Tamaqua and the late Charles Galloway.Mr. Wieand is the son of Jessie Schrader of Slatington and the late Richard Wieand.The couple has three children, Robert Wieand, and Melissa, wife of Michael May, all of Lansford; and Nicole Wieand of Coaldale. They also have four grandchildren.A surprise anniversary party was held in the couple's honor by their children.
