Heritage Hill woman celebrates 93rd birthday

Pauline Carsia, a resident at Heritage Hill Senior Community, Weatherly, recently celebrated her 93rd birthday.

She was born on May 9, 1919 in Hazleton, where she resided most of her life.She had four sisters and a brother, who have passed away. She has two brothers, Patsy and Angelo Gerrone, living in Avon Lake, Ohio, and a brother Lewis Gerrone, residing in Hazleton.Her husband Rocco passed away in 1982.Pauline has two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Jake Maurer, Summit Hill, and Sandra and George Miller, Hazle Township.She has two granddaughters, Stacie Bauer, who resides in Virginia, and Heather Miller of Hazle Township. She also has 2-year-old twin great-granddaughters, Addison Mae and Victoria Regan Bauer of Virginia.She is a devout Catholic and a member of Most Precious Blood Church in Hazleton.Pauline graduated from Hazleton High School in 1936. She worked at the U.S. Draftboard during World War II. Following her employment she married and enjoyed being a housewife and mother. She often baked her own bread.
