Marcin, PSU Berks win baseball title

The Penn State Berks baseball team exploded out of the gate in the must-win seventh game to capture its second straight North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) West Division Championship on Sunday afternoon. The Nittany Lions beat Gallaudet University, 13-5, in the deciding game.

The Nittany Lions collected a season-best 20 hits, including three from Palmerton High School graduate Christian MarcinMarcin, a freshman outfielder for PSU-Berks, has been a key contributor this season, starting 35 of the teams' 36 games. For the season, Marcin has one home run and 15 RBIs. He has scored 14 runs and has a .227 batting average. He has also drawn 14 walks and stolen six bases.The Nittany Lions will face Castleton State, who won the NEAC East Division Championship in a best-of-three series beginning on Saturday, May 5. The games will be played in Utica, New York on the campus of SUNYIT.
