Nesquehoning Woman's Club celebrates 45th anniversary

Members and guests of the Nesquehoning Woman's Club enjoyed a dinner and program in celebration of their 45th anniversary. New officers were sworn in and new president, Carol Zickler, announced her committees.

Chairing the Hospitality committee is Nancy Kevilly; Reservations, Jane Pietruch; Ways and Means, Valerie Higgins and Pat Sasserath; Publicity and Community Projects, Zickler; Membership and bylaws, Madeline Ligenza; Programs, Ligenza. Department chairs are Sunshine Lady, Joyce Bond; and Transportation, Sasserath.Regular meetings are held each Monday of the month at 7 p.m. except for January and February due to the snow. The club meets at the Zion Lutheran Church in Nesquehoning.The club has donated thousands of dollars to community and area projects in the past and plans to do the same in the future. Members hold teas with the Lehighton and Panther Valley Women's Clubs.Any woman from the area who is interested in joining the club may contact one of the members or just attend a meeting.

SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS During the 45th anniversary dinner of the Nesquehoning Woman's Club, held at the Normal Square Inn, installation of new officers was held. Conducting the swearing in program was former president Valerie Higgins, standing at left. Next to her is Judy Moon, outgoing president, who is presenting the gavel to incoming president for the next two years, Carol Zickler. Looking on is treasurer Ginny Novy and Vice President Connie Kravelk. Seated is new secretary Anne Paulakovich. The president will host an executive board meeting on Sunday, July 29 at 2 p.m. at her home.
