West Penn Township Chief of Police Brian Johnson searches the site along Route 309 where two young children found the note used by bank robbery suspect David Cunard in robbing the KNBT Bank in Schnecksville on Thursday, May 24. Cunard apparently discarded the note as he was fleeing back to Hazleton through West Penn Township. The children, who were playing in their driveway, gave the note to their parents who notified police. The note read "THIS IS A ROBBERY...........FILL THE BAG." The note was transferred to Mahoning Township Police Officer Audie Mertz, who then forwarded it to the state police crime lab in Bethlehem.
