SS. Peter and Paul School, 307 Coal St., Lehighton, will hold open house and registrations on Sunday, Jan. 29. All are welcome to join as the school community celebrates Mass at 11 a.m. Tours, registrations, and Academic Fair viewing will follow until 2:30 p.m.
SS. Peter and Paul School is a Middle States Accredited school in the Diocese of Allentown, offering full-time preschool though eighth-grade classes in a quality Catholic atmosphere. Small class sizes allow students to excel, scoring well-above national averages on standardized test scores. Most SS. Peter and Paul graduates go on to excel in the top 5 or 10 percent of their high school classes.
Scholarship information is available at the open house. Last year, SS. Peter and Paul School awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to its students.
In addition to the regular curriculum, which exceeds state standards, SS. Peter and Paul offers a Robotics Club, instrumental music classes, Student Council, newspaper, yearbook, service opportunities, CYO sports activities, and before and after school care.
Students registering for first through eighth grades must present a birth and baptismal certificate, and may be required to take placement tests in reading and math.
Students registering for kindergarten must be 5 years old by Oct. 15, 2012, and present a birth certificate, baptismal certificate, and immunization records. A readiness screening will be presented to all prospective kindergarten students.
Students registering for preschool must be 4 years old by Oct. 15, 2012, and present birth and baptismal certificates.
Registration fees are waived for those registering during open house.
