Naturalist Becky Cunfer will conduct a winter hike and maple syrup making workshop Saturday at the Carbon County Environmental Education Center.

The winter hike begins at 10 a.m.Cunfer says to dress warm and wear appropriate foot gear for an easy hike.There will be a scavenger hunt afterwards. In addition, hot chocolate will be served.Beginning at 1 p.m., a maple syrup producer, Slate Belt, will lead a program on maple syrup.Families and small groups are welcome.A $5 per participant donation is recommended for each program. Members of the Environmental Education Center are free.Pre-registration is a must and should be done via phone.
