Annual District 5 CYO Arts and Craft Competition held

Students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade attending Catholic schools competed in the annual District 5 CYO Arts and Craft Competition. Winners were recognized at the competition held at St. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Lehighton. Schools competing were St. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Lehighton; St. John Neumann Regional Academy; and Our Lady of the Angels Academy, Lansford.

There were 169 entries.The CYO director is Phil Liszka.Judging for winners was based on originality, design and execution.Winners of the Craft division were: kindergarten, first, Dylan Newton, St. John Neumann; second, Stephen Behun, and third, Barry J. Fulton, both of OLOAA; first and second grade, first, Victoria Keiper, second, Shannon Doheity; and third, Aley Kokosky, all of St. John Neumann; third and fourth grade, first and second place, Gabriella Greek, and third, Erika Dubosky, all of OLOAA; fifth and sixth grade, first, Madison Martinez, St. John Neumann; second, Kylie Herlihy, OLOAA: and third, Jacob Martinez, St. John Neumann; and seventh and eighth grade, first, Amy McConnell, and second, Clarissa Colondo, both of St. Peter and Paul; and third, Barry J. Fulton, OLOAA.Winners of the Art division were: kindergarten, first, Ava Piccioni, St. John Neumann; second, Olivia Stein, St. Peter and Paul; and third, Stephen Beheen, OLOAA; first and second grade, first, Reilly Burke, St. John Neumann; second, Sadie Trubilla and third, Emilia Tenisci, both of OLOAA: third and fourth grade, first, Timothy Hillanbrand, St. John Neumann; second, Katherine Aaron, and third, Casey Hanley, both of St. Peter and Paul School; fifth and sixth grade, Ji Young Choi and Kennedy Malsch, both of St. Peter and Paul; and third, Andrea McArdle, OLOAA: seventh and eighth grade, first, Ji Eun Choi and Amy McConnell, both of St. Peter and Paul; and third, Allison Amodea, OLOAA.Final standings were, OLOAA, one, first place; four, second places; and six third places, with 11 points; St. John Neumann, six first places, one second place; and three third places, for 10 points; and St. Peter and Paul School, three first places, five second places and one third place for nine points.
