A 17-year-old Tamaqua girl has been cited following a confrontation with a 14-year-old girl.

The younger teen's mother contacted Tamaqua police at 11:40 p.m. on Nov. 12, to report that her daughter had been assaulted by the older girl. The incident took place in the unit block of Center Street. According to the report the teens had exchanged some words, with the older teen striking the younger girl in the face, twice.The citation was for harassment.
