Carbon burglaries

State police at Lehighton are investigating two burglaries at two separate Carbon County locations, both occurring on Monday, Nov. 14.

Troopers said the residence of Lori and Carl Nothstein, 1500 block of Strohls Valley Road, Lehighton, Towamensing Township, was entered by unknown means. Once inside the criminals removed a pillow case from a bed in the master bedroom and emptied a wooded jewelry box into it. They also removed three watches from a dresser.The criminals then went to the kitchen area and took a 19-inch flat screen teleivsion with remote. Total estimated valued of the missing items was set at over $5,000. The break-in occurred sometime between 11:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.The second entry occurred at the home of Michael O'Brian, of the 300 block of White St., Weissport. Entry was gained through an unlocked first floor bathroom window. Once inside the criminals removed a HP laptop computer from an upstairs bedroom. The incident occurred sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.Troopers are investigating a theft from a vehicle incident.Troopers said unknown criminals smashed the driver's side window on the 2002 Dodge Dakota of Rodney R. Reeser, 45, of Apple St., Bowmanstown, and removed several CDs. The incident occurred sometime between 6:45 p.m. on Monday and 5:55 a.m. Tuesday while the vehicle was parked near his home.Troopers also reported on two acts of criminal mischief.Keith Smith, 24, of 311 White St., Bowmanstown, reported someone broke off the driver's side mirror on his vehicle while parked near his residence. The incident occurred overnight of Monday into Tuesday.Michael Telepo, 39, of 1504 Hickory Court, Ross Township, Monroe County, reported someone threw eggs at his residence and trailer which was parked in the driveway of his home. The incident was reported at 10 p.m. on Nov. 12.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
