The Upper Owl CreekDam in Tamaqua isclosed to the public until further notice. Tamaqua has contracted withPerformance Construction Services Inc. of Harrisburg to rehabilitate the dam. The project consists of raising of the dam, and construction of a new spillway and outletstructures. The work started on October 31 and could take up to one year to complete.Vehicles and pedestrians are not allowed near the dam or on the access roads. The dam will be reopened for public use as soon as possible after the work is completed. Drivers traveling on Owl Creek Road should be alert for construction vehicles near the dam entrance.
