Marian Catholic hosts 'Pink Out'

On Oct. 7 Marian Catholic High School's FBLA held a "Pink Out" to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. For a $1 donation, students were allowed to wear a pink shirt to school.

That evening, the event was continued as the football players arrived on the field in pink socks donated courtesy of Chris Henritzy of Delrose Awards, Lansford. The cheerleaders and band members also added pink to their uniforms. Many fans from Marian and Panther Valley supported the cause by wearing pink shirts.Donations were made to receive a pink ribbon, the chapter held a bake sale, and pink balloons were purchased as a memorial of a loved one or to celebrate a survivor. During half time, officers of the chapter carried the memorialized balloons to mid field and released them to the background music of Martina McBride's song "I Will Love You Through It All." Balloons and ribbons were courtesy of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Julian and Stephanie's Greens and Things. The day's event was extremely successful and the chapter presented a $1,000 contribution to the American Cancer Society following their annual induction Mass at the school.
