The Panther Valley Public Library, at 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, has lots of fun activities to brighten these dreary days.

*There will be a free Children's Christmas Party, from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Saturday, Dec. 10. A special guest from the North Pole will read a book to the children. *The library will host a Christmas Party at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12 for children who attend the Intermediate Unit program.

*Story Time is from 9:30 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday.

*The Black Diamond Writers Group meets at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10.

*Book Club with Kathy, meets at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17. The feature read is "The Gift."

*There will be an Art Show and Open House from 2-4 p.m. Sunday Dec. 18. This event is a joint venture with the Lansford Historical Society. The Historical Society will also have an open house upstairs. The library will be having an art show downstairs, presented by the students from the Panther Valley Elementary School under the guidance of art teacher Tanya Lilly. The featured art piece will be a painting of the Panther Valley Public Library, done by Judy Lin, a Panther Valley High School student.

Refreshments will be provided.

*The library invites people to browse its ongoing book sale, and welcomes donations of books, especially current releases. the library also offers book memorials in a loved one's name.
