A Monroe County man was charged following an incident that occurred about 1:11 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, along SR940, near Hoffman's Texaco, in Pocono Summit, Tobyhanna Township.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said they observed a man walking at the above location and stopped to check on him. He was identified as David Erwin Paulauskas, 22, of Tobyhanna.Police said he acted unusually nervous and began reaching in his pockets. Police conducted a search of his person and found a set of brass knuckles.Police placed him under arrest and transported him to police headquarters for processing. Paulauskas was charged with possession of a prohibited offensive weapon. He was later released and will face the charge before a district judge.
