Sunday school teachers
The Sunday School teachers of St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will meet on Thursday, Aug. 4, at 7 p.m. in the church. Sunday School classes will resume for the new year on Sunday, Aug. 28, at 9:15 a.m.

The Jim Thorpe High School classes of 1975-1979 will be holding their reunion on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Lehighton Orioles. St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will be holding its clothing giveaway the next three weeks. Distribution will be held on the following dates: Aug. 4 and 11, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Aug. 5, 12 and 18, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Aug. 6, 13 and 20, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Joint class reunion meeting
A meeting will take place at noon on Monday, Aug. 8 at the Lions Club pavilion in Normal Square, for anyone in the graduating classes of 1955 through 1965 of Jim Thorpe High School. Those planning to attend should bring their own bag lunch and beverage. The committee is planning to schedule the affair for September of 2012.
The next visit of the American Red Cross bloodmobile will be on Aug. 24, at Memorial Park from 1-6 p.m. Donors should be 17 years of age and older.
