After reading the Times News story (4/19/2011) on the property tax archaic system it is no secret that is the worst tax to impose on people. State senator John Yudichak, State Representative Doyle Heffley and State senator Dave Argall have proposed that the school tax be eliminated. What a wonderful thing except they stopped short on the real property tax issue and that is to stop the county and the local taxing also by eliminating this tax totally.The Stop Plan (www.grandoldusa.com) that was studied and proposed several years ago is the only way to go. Our previous representative Mr. McCall was on board with this plan.Here is what will happen if this plan is enacted:It will stop costly reassessments on to 4/5 of all homesteads and farmsteads in the state saving millions in assessments & reassessments and remove the most inaccurate, corrupt and hated tax burdenIt will stop the horrid practice of selling homeowners property at sheriff salesIt will unleash $8 billion dollars in property tax escrows that gain no interest into the economy creating $24 billion in economic activity in Pa.creating more tax revenue and jobs in construction, remolding, finance, building materials ETC ETCIt will make buying a home more affordable and create more equity in the homes we own now.So I urge all our representatives to look hard at this plan and homeowners should push them to go all the way and totally abolish this tax.
