Fuel stolen, vehicle damaged

Unknown criminals stole a large quantity of fuel and then caused extensive damages to a contruction vehicle.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred along SR209, just off Franklin St., in Frailey Township, Schuylkill County.Troopers said the criminals stole 100 gallons of diesel fuel from a 1998 Caterpillar 966-G and a 2007 Komatsu bulldozer. They then drove the Caterpillar and used its front end loader to damage the battery compartment of the Komatsu.Damages were estimated at $6,190.12 to the Komastsu. The owners of the two pieces of equipment were identified as Natural Soil Products in Good Spring, Schuylkill County, and Mid Atlantic Machinery, Wilkes-Barre.Troopers said the incident occurred sometime between 3 p.m. on April 12 and 6:15 a.m. on April 13.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 593-2000.
